North Star Veterinary Hospital
Rehabilitation is the management of patients with painful or functionally limiting conditions, particularly those with injury or illness to the neurological or musculoskeletal system. This management is obtained through the use of non-invasive treatments such as massage, laser therapy, physical therapy, and/or Chiropractic and acupuncture. The goal of rehabilitation is to achieve the highest level of function and quality of life possible for the patient and to restore full range of movement and strength.
Our doctors and technicians work closely with your pet to perform physical therapy exercises to improve their specific needs. These exercises are designed to improve strength, stride, range of motion, proprioception, balance, increase blood flow, and increase endurance. Physical therapy works great in conjunction with other means of integrative medicine such as Chiropractic, Acupuncture, and Laser Therapy to get your pet back to feeling comfortable as quick as possible. See Integrative medicine for more details on these specialized services.
